Chinese Dance Workshop

A popular workshop to book particularly at the time of the Chinese Lunar New Year. Celebrations usually include a visit from a Dragon…do not fear for they epitomise good luck and can even ward off evil spirits! Chinese people believe dragons to be friendly and enchanting and our workshop celebrates the beauty of the dragon and the movement he brings. Chinese culture is a fascinating subject and features beautiful props to learn about such as the Traditional Fan Dance and the authentic decorative Parasol Dance. The structure of the Chinese dance workshops can be tailored to fit into a usual school day. In our experience we find that an appropriate class duration is between 30 minutes to 90 minutes for each session. We can offer a half day workshop which is up to three hours or the full day workshop which is up to six hours of educational dance. We aim to be as flexible as possible to enable students to have the opportunity to experience the fun of educational dance workshops.

Due to the amount of props and visual elements required within this workshop a school hall is required for the workshops to allow students enough space to move safely
