African Drum Craft School Workshops

Drumming Session with Art Based Workshop

This new workshop combines a drumming session with an art based workshop where the children can make masks, head wear etc. which can be worn by the children during the end of day performance or parade. We can tailor our workshops to fit into your chosen themes or activities. For this workshop, David works alongside The Cultural Sisters, a professional and highly experienced visual and participatory arts organisation based in Stoke on Trent.

Age Groups

EYFS - Y13, Reception, Higher Education, Special Educational Needs (SEN)

Art Sesssion

In the art-based workshop, children can unleash their creativity by crafting masks, headwear, and more, to proudly wear during the end-of-day performance or parade.

Art Collaboration with Culture Sisters

David collaborates with The Cultural Sisters, a skilled and seasoned arts organisation specialising in visual and participatory arts, located in Stoke-on-Trent, for this workshop.

David Woolley

David Woolley studied West African Djembe and Djuns under the guidance of Drum/Dance master Almami Kamara aka Maitre Samsou during his time in the Gambia. He also played with members of Allah Tantoo, Follocoh, Canella and African Ballet. During his visit, Almami Kamara’s newest group Joliba were rehearsing to perform during the new tourist season.

Prices range from only £300 for a half day.
