Even without instruments you can make music. Using your body like a drum-kit you can create amazing rhythms! Clap, snap, stomp and slap: this is a fabuloous energizer and a fun way of learning rhythms. It is also great for coordination, creativity and teamwork.
All Year Groups
Using your body to create rhythms is a great way to bring people together and make them focus. Children love to move and make sounds, playing Body Percussion is a perfect way to encourage them to engage.
Body Percussion and movement boost brain development, co-ordination and cognitive abilities, because both sides of the brain are used.
Movement also increases concentration and while they’re learning rhythms and moves, they are having lots of fun at the same time.

Thank you so, so much for the brilliant workshop yesterday. The children were absolutely buzzing afterwards! They really enjoyed it and it gives me plenty to follow up on in class too.
Children love banging on drums, playing rhythms and making music. It is a great way to blow off steam and is a great team building exercise. Drumming encourages socialization, self-expression, communication, and motor development. African dancing or South African gumboot dancing is another way to create joyful memories. We work with children of different ages and abilities: nursery-, primary- and secondary school children and children with special needs. Our educational drum workshops are about percussion and rhythm, teamwork, discipline, listening skills, building self-confidence and having fun!
