Interactive and fun
We believe children learn best by doing! Our sessions are interactive and fun, and we use role play, drama, quizzes, exploration and creative activities to get children to feel what it was like living in the past. Specially designed activities that favour practical activities over "show and tell", and get the maximum information across in the most fun and engaging way. Children won't even realise they're learning!
Hands-on Sessions with Artifacts to Explore
Replica artifacts from genuine historical sources, made from traditional materials. Children can handle and explore things they would only see behind glass in a museum! Investigating objects using all their senses gets facts to stick and makes for great creative follow up work
Costumed characters
We arrive in fully authentic clothing based on historical evidence, to really make a splash! We also suggest that you make it a dressing up day, so that children really get into the part. We can supply dressing up sheets for home made costume so there doesn't need to be any extra cost for the parents!

Testimonials
What did you like about the workshop? Class answer: "all of it, especially when he tried to chop us or make us jump", "I like when he scared us half to death when he jumped at us" Teacher: the children really enjoyed the whole day, they learnt and retained a mass of information and got a better understanding of the Norsemen's lifestyle. I also appreciated touching on wider related subjects such as slavery and ethic living. The presentation was interactive and lively. Will book for next year!
The children all enjoyed participating in creating a shield wall and re-enacting going into battle, the Viking burial, writing their names in runes and being archaeologists, finding out what different artefacts were used for. Ash was very understanding of the age of the children and made sure he didn't frighten them. The lessons/activities were all made age appropriate for our KS1 pupils. A very exciting and educational day had by all at Kents Hill Infant Academy. Thank you!
The workshop was amazing! Nic the Viking really engaged the children, kept them moving and allowed them to touch most of the artefacts. Our children were fully focused and asked many great questions.
