Bones Investigation: Children will explore and handle a variety of real animal bones, working to identify them and determine which animals they came from.
Cave Drawings: Children will examine authentic Stone-Age cave drawings before recreating their own artwork using chalk and charcoal on slate boards.
Artefact Investigation: A wide collection of Stone-Age artefacts, including flint tools, animal furs, and other ancient equipment, will be showcased. Depending on class sizes, children may also get the chance to handle some of these items.
Tools/Weapons Making: Using materials like knapped flint, sticks, twine, and feathers, children will create Stone-Age tools and weapons such as knives, spears, arrows, hammers, drills, and axes—or anything else their imaginations inspire!
Hunting/Archery: Children will have the opportunity to practice archery using safety arrows, aiming at targets representing animals commonly hunted during the Stone Age, such as wild boars, stags, pheasants, badgers, and hares.
