This workshop requires 2 presenters- a Knight and a Lady from the Middle Ages- this can be 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th or 15th Century, as we have costumes and equipment for all these periods. Workshop examines: What is a castle? Who built them? Why? Where? Who lived inside? What jobs did they do? How did enemies attack castles, and what could be used to defend them? Parts of a castle such as drawbridge, portcullis, batlements, arrow loops, barbican. Why did castles stop being built, and what happened to them all?
Children explore the worlf of the medieval Knight with a staggering array of real armour , weapons and articles of their daily life
