Presented by Herodotus, we explore : Geography - we bring a huge map of Ancient Greece. In chronological order we explore Crete, Thera, Sparta, Thrace, Athens, Macedonia, Troy. The history covers the Bronze Age through to Alexander the Great, including study of Crete, Thera, The Olympic Games, the Polis, Philosophy, the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World. Science with stories of the Archimedes Screw, the Eureka moment, and Pythagoras’s theorem. The Greek alphabet. Children all have a pre-prepared worksheet with lots of questions to answer, and detective work, translating Greek characters into ‘English’. Role-play with names provided so that every child can assume a Greek name for the day. Gods and Monsters : meet the pantheon, role play the stories! Perseus and Medusa, Theseus and the Minotaur, Hercules’ twelve labours -with dressing up, masks and artefacts. The our grand finale - act out the Trojan War! We really do have a Trojan Horse for children to get inside.
