  • Identifying the stories in our everyday lives and understanding how story structures can help overcome obstacles and embrace challenges.
  • Exploring various written story resources and conducting individual research to find resonant narratives.
  • Collaborating as a group to merge our individual stories into a cohesive performance piece, reflecting on our journey throughout the program.
  • Consistently considering the logistics of organising an arts event.
  • Exploring venue options and making informed decisions about event setup.
  • Assuming responsibility for key production tasks and taking ownership of the event.
  • Collaborating as a team and in pairs to provide supportive feedback on performances and make collective decisions about the event.

I just wanted to say thank you for a fantastic day today. The children (and staff) all really enjoyed their experience with John and it really helped to bring the story to life for them. Please pass on my warm gratitude to John, I am sure we will be in touch again in the future! All the best

Cat, Thackley Primary School Bradford

Reading Festival (Student Feedback):

  • Cat's stories captivated with their intrigue and uniqueness.
  • The tales, stemming from diverse cultures, were truly remarkable.

Students, Outward Academy Freeston

All children were entertained and thoroughly enjoyed the day. They all enjoyed standing up and performing, as well as asking John an extensive list of questions about Shakespeare, but also about the job he does personally. It was noted that John worked hard to include all children at some point in the performances. Through the style of the session, it was great to see children who would never volunteer, be chosen to stand up and perform in front of their peers, this was a real confidence boost for them. Please do pass on our thanks again to John, from all the staff and children at

Staff Member, Whitehouse Common Sutton Coldfield

Anna's storytelling workshops were a great success with children and adults. All members of staff I spoke to said Anna was really good and from what I saw she had the children were captivated. The children had a great time. There was lots of laughter and audience participation. She adapted the sessions well for each different age group and when I spoke to her she said she was impressed with how responsive the children were to her. So, altogether a great day- thank you! Best wishes
