English country dance styles we offer
May Pole (the school has to have their own May Pole) – A long upright pole with coloured ribbons attached to the top. Each student holds one ribbon and skips in and out of each other weaving intricate patterns. It's tricky, but really good fun.
Morris Dancing – A processional dance, usually performed in lines and using props such as a white hankie or a stick. We bring colourful scarves for everyone to use in these energetic workshops.
Scottish Dancing – Short dances in set patterns, known as a Ceilidh. The 'caller' calls out the moves as the dancers whirl around.
Irish Jigs – energetic dances with lots of leg kicks ;)
Traditional English Country Dance - Using patterns like circles and lines in this dance which is great for encouraging team work.
