Captivating Creatures Ltd offers interactive and engaging animal handling workshops for schools. Our experienced educators bring a variety of fascinating creatures to the classroom, providing students with the opportunity to learn about and interact with animals in a safe and hands-on environment. With a focus on education and conservation, our workshops are designed to captivate and inspire young minds, in both fun and informative way, leaving a lasting impact on students and teachers alike. Types of workshops and topics we cover are: Animal Classifications Rainforest Animal habitats The Desert Mini-Beasts Predators and Prey Animal Adaptations Nocturnal Animals Life Cycles See it Feel it and much more, all workshop are tailored to your requirements.

Format

We typically bring between 8-10 animals a mixture of everything from stick insects to snakes and spiders, Guinea pigs and Chinchillas. All the children will get the opportunity to interact with the animals. We recommend a minimum of 1hr per group but you can have as long as you want and cover your topic in more detail if you wish.

A classroom or hall is perfectly fine.

We have a larger selection of animal which can be found here, on the day we will bring a selection of 10-12 animals this will be dependant on whether the animal is in shed/molt and also the animals temperament on the day as like people we all have our off days.

We need enough space for pupils to sit on the floor so that they can handle the animals safely with no chance of dropping them. We’d also like you to tell us if any children have additional needs so we can make sure they are able to fully enjoy the animal experience.

We offer every child the opportunity to handle the animals, however our Rangers are sympathetic to fears and phobias and no-one is ever pressurised into getting up close if they would rather watch from a distance.

Our animals have been handled regularly and so are very relaxed around people. They have also been selected for their safety – we won’t bring venomous snakes or any animals which are likely to bite.
