Hands-on bridge engineering experience

In this Bridge Building Club activity, students will explore bridge engineering by designing and testing their own models. They'll learn about different types of bridges, such as arch, beam, cantilever, and truss, and how load transfers affect stability. Through hands-on projects like building paper and model bridges, they’ll apply problem-solving and engineering skills to create strong structures while understanding the science behind bridge design.

Requirements

Must remain in the same venue/classroom for the duration of the whole day to run all of the sessions.
The classroom/hall/venue must have desks and chairs for all students. Normal classrooms are fine.
Preferable: A computer/laptop with projector/interactive whiteboard or smart screen with sound enabled.

Please note that we typically only deliver our workshops/events for groups of children, as our event day prices are per instructor per day, starting from £375 for a half-day. As such, they are not suitable for individual children. However, you can ask your child's school to contact us to arrange a workshop day (anywhere in the UK) or an after-school STEM club (if based in Essex or Manchester), typically priced at £10 per session per child.
